Situation
Financial institutions must meet stringent and ongoing regulatory controls and reporting requirements. In general, appropriate controls must be in place to assure that only approved software applications can run on end user and server systems.

The power and capabilities of today’s PCs make it easy for employees to use these machines for personal use, and download and run other applications in addition to those needed to do their work. These unauthorized applications, such as file sharing applications, instant messaging, and games, can negatively impact productivity and system performance. In addition, employees often have both electronic and physical access to servers containing sensitive information.

Solution
Savant provides the ability to lock down these systems and prevent any application other than those that are approved, to run. Once the device is locked down, Savant will not allow any unauthorized applications to execute. Unauthorized applications that impact worker productivity and consume system resources will not be allowed. As well, by preventing unknown applications from executing, malware will be stopped and downtime to clean up and restore machines will be reduced.
