Product Overview
Savant Protection enables your IT organization to close security gaps, improve control over endpoint computers and reduce support costs by as much as 80%. Savant Protection controls which applications can run on each end point device and blocks unauthorized applications and unknown malware. As a result, Savant Protection delivers security and savings not possible with existing antivirus and endpoint management systems. Savant Protection includes a lightweight agent - Savant Enforcer and a web interface server - the Savant Enterprise Management Systems (SEMS).
Fits Your Work Style
Savant Protection takes a fundamentally different approach with its patented client-centric architecture. The Savant Enforcer client can be deployed in a wide variety of user environments without changing how you do business. From tightly controlled endpoints to open environments where end users have rights to add software to their computers, Savant Protection’s unique approach offers more flexibility than any other application whitelisting solution on the market.
Works with Your Existing Antivirus and Management Systems
Savant Protection integrates seamlessly with other endpoint security and management solutions and is not reliant on a central whitelist database. Instead it is designed to complement antivirus and endpoint management systems by: (1) stopping zero day attacks and unknown malware that bypasses antivirus and perimeter security; (2) automatically allowing authorized patches and updates, (3) enforcing application usage policies by blocking unauthorized applications. Savant Protection also supports less sophisticated environments such as file shares and sneaker-net. In more limited environments, Savant Protection’s solutions can also be used completely standalone.
Easy to Deploy and Secure Endpoints
Savant Protection’s solutions make it easy to deploy and secure endpoints - avoiding the complexity of other application whitelisting offerings. The SEMS server makes it easy to configure endpoints. The Savant Enforcer client automatically deploys and establishes a unique key for every executable on each endpoint. Once deployed, executables are checked by Savant Enforcer to ensure that they are authorized. If the key does not match Enforcer’s encrypted database or there is no key, then the executable and the associated application cannot run. Savant treats malware and unauthorized software in the same manner.
Stops Attacks that by-pass Antivirus Systems
Drive-by downloads and malicious attachments are common attacks that often evade traditional antivirus and endpoint protection. Any executable (e.g.exe, dll, ocx) that is unknown to Savant Enforcer is considered unauthorized, will not have a key, and therefore cannot execute or spread. Savant stops all unknown, modified or malicious software from running or proliferating.
Lowers Cost of Support
With Savant Enforcer, endpoints don’t break due to malware or unauthorized software. Machines run faster, incidents are minimized and help desk calls diminish. As a result, end user support costs are reduced by as much as 80% or more. End users avoid downtime too.
Not Dependent on Centralized Lists or Web Sites
Application permission is established and enforced on the device itself, eliminating the need for IT to administer a massive list of signatures. Users don’t need to connect to a central server for authorization to run an application. The Savant Enterprise Management System provides additional tools for IT administrators to approve user requests to install new software- such as reference checking via Google or other databases.
Multi Platform, Complementary, Compatible
Savant Enforcer supports Windows environments from MS Windows 7 and MS Sever 2008 (32 and 64 bit) to older versions including Windows Vista, XP, Windows 2000 and others. The Savant Enterprise Management System presents a web based user interface and requires either an Apache server or IIS and either MySQL or MSSQL.
Proven in Variety of IT Environments
Savant Protection’s solutions have been deployed in a range of customer environments, industry verticals, and service provider offerings; and can address the requirements of enterprises and small business customers.
