Dr. Chuvakin (www.chuvakin.org) currently serves as Chief Logging Evangelist at LogLogic of San Jose, CA, an innovator and market leader in Log Data Management and Intelligence (LMI). Stephen Northcutt


An international authority on network design and security, author and renowned educator, Mr. Northcutt founded the GIAC certification program and currently serves as President of the SANS Technology Institute, a post graduate level IT Security College – www.sans.edu.

Stephen is author/coauthor of Incident Handling Step-by-Step, Intrusion Signatures and Analysis, Inside Network Perimeter Security 2nd Edition, IT Ethics Handbook, SANS Security Essentials, SANS Security Leadership Essentials and Network Intrusion Detection 3rd edition.

Stephen was the original author of the Shadow Intrusion Detection system before accepting the position of Chief for Information Warfare at the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization and is a graduate of Mary Washington College. Before entering the field of computer security, he worked as a Navy helicopter search and rescue crewman, white water raft guide, chef, martial arts instructor, cartographer, and network designer. 

 


 

Tom Kellermann

 

A Commissioner on The Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency, Mr. Kellermann is an international expert in cyber security. Tom is a member of the Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council; the IPv6 Forum; the American Bar Association's working group on Cyber-crime and the High-Performance Computing Working Panel. Tom is a Professor at American University's School of International Service.


Currently, Tom is Vice President of Security Awareness and Strategic Partnerships at leading penetration testing software company Core Security Technologies where he is responsible for building Core's relationships with key industry and government partners, and helping to further the acceptance of auditing security defenses to reduce organizations' operational risk.


Tom also has held the position of Senior Data Risk Management Specialist the World Bank Treasury Security Team where he was responsible for cyber-intelligence and policy management within the World Bank Treasury. In this role, Tom regularly advised central banks around the world about their cyber-risk posture and layered security architectures. Along with Thomas Glaessner and Valerie McNevin, he co-authored the book "E-safety and Soundness: Securing Finance in a New Age." Tom holds a BA from the University of Michigan and a Masters from American University's School of International Service

 


 

Michael L. Ronayne

 

Mr. Ronayne is an accomplished computing systems architect, engineer, technologist, entrepreneur and industry consultant.  In the year 2000, Mike founded the technology consultancy Amherst Partners.  As President and principal consultant, Mike serves as technology lead and strategist for such high profile clients as Ortho-McNeil Neurologics and Janssen Pharmaceutical, both divisions of Johnson & Johnson.
With over 32 years of industry experience, Mike has led the design and development of groundbreaking technological advancement and is a well known and highly regarded technologist and business strategist in such diverse industries as computer hardware/software, financial services, insurance, semiconductor and customer services. With more than 20 years with Digital Equipment Corporation, Mike held a number of technical positions including Chief Technical Architect for Digital's Manufacturing Engineering Information Systems Group and Information Architect for Digital's Information Management and Technology group. Mike was also involved with the development of Digital's Information Systems and Technical Architecture Frameworks.

Mike has an Associate degree in Industrial Electronics and Bachelors degree in Computer Science with advanced studies in Computer Science at Boston University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute..

 


 

Steve Benson

 

 

An authority in the design and development of manufacturing software systems, Mr. Benson is an acclaimed author, educator and technologist. Steve is currently serving as Senior Solutions Architect, Consultant for Applied Materials - formerly Brooks Automation Software Division - where he served as CTO.  An early leader and director of the Agility Forum at the Iacocca Institute of Lehigh University, Steve is an advocate and proponent of the theories of Agile Manufacturing Enterprise within the software infrastructure. Steve led the group responsible for the establishment of the Forum’s Best Agile Practice Reference Base for Agile Information and Control Systems.  Steve’s expertise in the area of Manufacturing Execution Systems has garnered him recognition in industries such as Semiconductor, Electronic Assembly, Discrete Job-Shops and others.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Boston University, Steve has authored articles and papers for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Engineering Society of Detroit, AUTOfact and DARPA.

Mr. Collette is a well respected professional in the field of Information Technologies for over 20 years.  As a founding partner of the highly regarded, Traxx Consulting Inc., for the past 8 years Ron has focused on multiple aspects of project management, team development, technical architecture, and information security. During his career, he has worked with several Fortune 500 & 100 companies such as Ingram Micro, Countrywide Mortgage Corporation, Resolution Trust Corporation, Pacific Life, and Fluor Corporation.

Ron has published and presented papers at numerous recognized technology conferences on topics including IT architecture, IT economics, software development concepts, and enterprise-wide organizational development. Ron was recently selected from a pool of technology process and security experts to present at the International Standards Organization (ISO) on the synergies between world-class information security and business continuity programs. He is also a regular columnist and research analyst for the Computer Economics.

Ron’s contributions to the security industry also include the release of The CISO Handbook: A Practical Guide to Securing Your Company, where he co-developed a comprehensive methodology for the assessment, design, development, and execution of security programs. Mike is often invited to speak at conferences on topics ranging from Security Program Development to Project Management. For the last two years, he has been selected from a field of 2,400 submissions to present at the most prestigious security conference in the United States; RSA San Francisco.

Mike has also written or been quoted in numerous magazines and publications both within and outside of the security domain. Recently, he has written articles for the ISSA Journal, Computer Economics, and Secure World Expo. He was a co-author of The CISO Handbook: A Practical Guide To Securing Your Company book which is used as course material for numerous advanced education and Master’s programs on security leadership around the world.

 


 

Michael Versace

 

Mr. Versace is an executive risk management consultant with more than 20 years in the information security, compliance and internal controls fields at Fidelity Investments, the Federal Reserve Banks, BayBanks, ZEFER, NEC, and Price Waterhouse Coopers. His work at these firms included the development and launch of FEDNET, the US payments backbone network, the introduction of internet and chip card payment schemes, the deployment of distributed cryptographic systems in ATM and POS networks, and the design of generalized technology risk programs.

He has held the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the International Standards Organization (ISO) technical committee on security for financial systems, has served as Head of the United States Delegation to ISO, and has contributed to the development of numerous technical standards on cryptography, risk management, and information security policy.
